Whether it's 1746,1757,1831,almost 9000 or a million, isn't the issue. The issue is that our "leaders" either lied or went along with the liars to create a situation favorable for THEIR political agenda and political experimentation; not because of the lies that were told to the public. Yes the masses are conservative, self-centered almost inertiac; it is hard to get people to do anything. But, can you blame us? Sending soldiers into an already hostile, American-hating climate, thanks to poor and poorly thought-out foreign policy; sending them there poorly equipped, almost fighting a war with nothing but junk guns and junk humvees(junk jeeps), fighting this war ass-backwards, sending in troops when you should first send in the "big stuff"; and even--should i get paranoid here?--the ideas that wars are now fought to make the world safe for businessmen who have to go global just so they can fill their pockets even more and add on to that house on the hill? Maybe I'm getting carried away, but YES I think the government lied, I think they planned this war poorly, I REALLY DOUBT these numbers are correct; but I don't support this war and IF these "leaders" lied to the people they only hurt themselves. How will they rally support when it actually comes time to fight a real war against a real threat? They've shot themselves in the foot and are aiming at their other one. Anyone read THE PROJECT FOR THE 21st CENTURY or The project for the new American Century, might be worth the time and effort.
