This article may stir up hatred against Israel for "$3 a gallon" gas, if people forget that this war is in line with typical U.S. policy. I mean, avowed Christian George Bush and Dick Cheney employ some people of Jewish descent. However, Cheney's not in control, just the Jewish Lobby. Not the Military-Industrial Complex.

The U.S. wouldn't have pursued the second Iraq war anyway, like it did in 1991 when Saddam Hussein first stopped taking orders from the CIA.
It's true, the U.S. invasion of Iraq is so totally uncharacteristic of this country that has never attacked any other country covertly or outwardly before 1948. Maybe some segments of the average white population are looking for an excuse to see themselves as victems.

What this article lacks is clear-sightedness and a sense of history. The whole thing could be seen in reverse: How much of the Israeli-Arab conflict may not have occurred if it had not been fueled by Cold War politics and competing arm sales. What if the Soviet Union and the U.S. didn't arm each side as part of their proxy Cold War in the 1970s and 1980s. Would it have been settled by now?
