Re: Pentagon Focus of a Spirited Peace Demonstration

Which Benjamin Franklin was it?
There was a British subject Benjamin Franklin who walked into the British Parliament to explain the plight of the early Americans and their view on "Stamp Act" - "no taxation without representation" and other grivances - BUT WALKED OUT OF THE SAME PARLIAMENT AN AMERICAN PATRIOT AND REVOLUTIONARY FULLY IN SUPPORT OF THE WAR.
There is also another Ben Franklin who in Poor Richard's Almanach coined "early to bed - early to rise....etc." who wined and dined the entire Parisian society into getting the French military aid to the American revolution. Contrary to the American Ambassador in Paris who wasn't even half as efficient.
In conclusion all proverbs are hugely limited to the time and place (BOTH) and there is an abundance of evidence to the contrary of their meaning when examined (even through the very lives of the people who used them first). In our case the non-war option with the Muslim world be to "roll over and play dead". Is that any more acceptable, or do you feel you may have taken the present "war" totally out of context of the world politics that dominate the only planet shared by all of us? If the prcieved threat is rooted (or propagated) in certain hostile regimes, why not address the root of the problem? Seems to me that Osama has been pretty quiet last couple of years. I equally fail to see any serious threats to the US homeland - ever wonder why that is?
