Last night I just happened to catch Mayor Sheila Dixon on television. She said (after it was announced that Baltimore's homicide rate continues to decline, 79 murders so far this year when last year at this time it was 120)

"We won't claim victory until our young people are completing high school and not dropping out and engaging in that market. We can't claim victory until one murder is too much," she said.

I was shocked she said this - just a week and a half after she refused to grant a formal meeting to the youth camped outside of City Hall!
