It's fun how the history of this stroke has been written. Given all of the internal conflict and posturing that went on, it was surely satisfying to see victory.

Points learned:
1. To win, be prepared to spend a lot of money.

2. It can never be just a union struggle. Involve the entire community.

3. Keep decision-making local.

4. It might take years, but if you keep fighting, you will win.

Being told by the expert in NYC that Mfume would never support this fight. I still laugh about that.
