Re: CHERYL SEAL REPORTS MARCH 24: Anti-propaganda Media Analysis
26 Mar 2003
Date Edited: 26 Mar 2003 05:05:55 PM
Michael Moore: According to news sources, including the one you referenced, Michael Moore is the one that said only 5 people booed.
Propaganda: Of Course Bush is going to try and make Iraq look bad. Isn't that the point of any war? As for us doing badly, the only people who ever said this was going to be a quick war was the media. Bush and Co. only said they hoped for a collapse to quicken the war, but several have said from the begining this wouldn't be a one week war.
Tommy Franks statement intercepted by Russian Radio: We have the most advanced military in the world, and you think a Russian Radio operator picked up that statement?
Jordan is Neutral: Can't argue with this one. They have been helping us since the start
British manufacturer's weapons linked to hidden cache of missiles: Did you bother to read the article you linked, and if you did, you obviously don't know your history. The British weapons, according to the article, were sold to Iraq in the 80s, long before sanctions on weapons were placed on Iraq.
Progress is slow: They're 50 miles outside of Baghdad, captured 3 airfields outside the Syrian border, and have had to deal with a horrific sandstorm. They also have to keep their supply lines open. You don't just drive up to Baghdad and start attacking.
2 page reconstruction: Yes one letter from someone secondhand proves that beyond a doubt (note sarcasm) I'm sure the government just hands out there entire reconstruction plan to everybody.
Mideast intelligence is bad: Let's see:
They managed to capture several major Al-Qeida operatives, including the man believed to have planned Sep 11
They hit Saddam Hussein (and if they didn't, where is he?) on the opening night.
Maybe if they found Bin Laden, I'd give them an A, but still not too shabby.
Executed troops: I can't argue with this either; I haven't seen the footage, but until they prove it, but then again, you can't prove they didn't
Reporters censored: First off, one report does not prove anything. Secondly, the military has ALWAYS made sure to censor reporters in the field, mainly because they don't want the enemy to gain intel. This is a standard, excepted war practice.
Dateline: I can't argue with this. Dateline sucks. They just go for ratings.
Some of the you wrote here is pure garbage, others might be true but just writing it down without backing it up proves nothing. If you don't like Bush and the war that is one thing; but at least back up you statements with fact as opposed to hearsay and twisting the facts. You are making yourself look just as bad as those you are trying to expose.
