The Mayor's response quoted above was a bit pathetic. However, it does highlight one thing that war protesters of the past had going for them that we lack now; journalists and news photographers who show up and document this sort of thing, to show who's right and who's wrong. To paraphrase a cliche, "If a tree falls in the woods, and the media doesn't cover the event, did it happen?"

As an alternate, I suggest the next time you guys ride, put disposable cameras in your pockets and at least some of you should carry along portable tape recorders. Or at least cultivate one friendly member of the press corps.
