As a member of the Baltimore IMC collective, I find these accusations risible. The IMC "fronts" for no one at all, on principle, though a generally leftist bias is apparent. You're more likely to find anti-Israeli sentiment amongst us than you would pro-Zionist inclinations. There is no "Zionist influence" here.

The main article mentions "The Baltimore Independent Media Center, the site providing 'anarchist' coverage of the event, includes a link to the Jewish Defense League in its feature article, without further commentary." First off, the Baltimore IMC is NOT explicitly anarchist, so the comment is incorrect on that account. Secondly, it's a piece of INFORMATION, not a commentary. The JDL provided a Call To Action, we included a link to it. I personally think it's a bit telling, however, that the JDL states "A group called the Barricada Collective will be joining JDL in the protest", but oddly enough the Barricada collective "have provided specific details on the counter event". Who's joining whom?

As an aside, the LA IMC almost immediately covered the arrest of JDL members:

The comment attached to this article probably isn't even worthy of mention. We "front for Zionists" because we included a link to the JDL website, and because there's a "lack of criticism"? Strange way of fronting. And to look on the global IndyMedia site and see horrifying photos of dead Palestinians under the caption "This is the Israeli Defence Force" doesn't give me the impression of undue bias towards Israel.

Even more telling the israel.indymedia.org site has a feature whose summary reads "Since the beginning of the new Intifada, there were at least seventeen documented cases in which Palestinians were killed while under custody. In some cases they were summarily executed, in other cases there is evidence of torture prior to killing. In none of these cases was anyone brought to justice, or even investigated, as far as I know." Doesn't sound like Zionism receives too much favor even with the Israeli IMC...

So, ummm...shut the hell up.
