On my MAy 16th court date I am going to request a jury trial. On monday or tuesday I am going to get a public defender to help represent me, my charges are weak and the police were clearly out of line and abruiseing their power onto us. I doubt any Baltimore city jury would for a half a second BELIEVE the police.
My court dates are really incovenient since its on the 4th day of the beginging of my-noise-bands-2-1/2-month-US-CANDA-tour. We half to drive back down from NYC and then take off from BALT to BOSTOn the same day... but weel worth it. I felt 'tempted' to take the deal because of the conflicting hassles with our tour. I was also offered a $150 fine and PBJ expungeable in 3 years.
But weighing my option:
Ive heard alot of stories from other traveling underground musicians about random 'terrorist' roadblocks, paranoid small town cops, non-entry/hard times tru borders, and getting detained at gas stations because of being suspecious looking etc...
And there was no way that I was going to have this crap charge on my record...since I have a previous police assult charge from a 97 ann arbor action which was supposed to dissapear and/or be dropped to a mistameanor but comes up as a felony.
AND THE COPS WERE WRONG I AM NOT PAYING THEM MONEY AND GETTING ANYTHING ON MY RECORD FOR A HALF SECOND.

on may 16th I will find out when my trial will be, and then i need to find as many witnesses as I can to testify what they saw.
