I know Baltimore's bus system is pretty bad and maybe a central-corridor location is somewhat easier to reach, but Baltimore & Fayette _is_ on a bus line and it's actually one of the very few places in the city within a decent walk of the (rather useless) metro system. From pretty much anywhere, you could have taken a bus to downtown then hopped on another one out to near Broadway & Fayette. Plenty of people commute by bus and/or metro to and from that area.
