The Democratic Party is directed by a segment of the ruling elites, which is why they are unable to confront corporate excesses. This is nothing new; the Populists of the late 1800s voiced the same discontent with the Democratic Party, which was cozy with the railroad industry. Populists tried to get the Democratic Party to adopt their policies. Some Democratic candidates actually ran campaigns on Populist policy positions, and even voiced those positions upon taking office, yet acted contrary to those positions. Need we re-learn this lesson again after over 100 years?

Yours is a good tactic to put a little fear in the Democratic Party, but it's only likely to generate lip service at best.
