I was aboard the Liberty on 8 June 1967. I lived through the devastation. This article, and the report it discusses, is right on! As for A.J.Cristol, he told me personally that he lived with the very Israeli political and military leaders he interviewed, called them "friend" and went back to visit them often....where is his objectivity? Further, various persons who reviewed his recent printing of what was his doctoral thesis all reached the same conclusion - his documentation was excellent but, and this is in all cases, his documentation does NOT support his conclusion that the attack was a mistake. Anyone willing to examine the historical facts about this incident will reach the same conclusion Mr. Cristol's documentation supports - that the attack was deliberate, well planned and coordinated, and that, based upon Israeli official statements about it, Israel was/is guilty of war crimes under several statutes.
