here's city paper:

www.citypaper.com/news/story.asp

Baltimore is in the process of installing 80 security cameras in three
of the most violent areas of the city in the hope of deterring
crime. By May 31, approximately 24 cameras will be placed along East
Monument Street, 24 will be placed in Park Heights, and 32 will be
placed along Greenmount Avenue in Waverly. The cameras will perch on
13-foot-long rods extending from light poles, and they will have the
ability to pan, zoom, and tilt to observe activity on the street. Live
surveillance of the cameras? footage will take place at a center
nearby. Trained individuals, including retired police officers, will
monitor the feed and will have a direct line to the Baltimore Police
Department when they view suspicious conduct.

Re: More on Citiwatch surveillance network

I got to ask. How do you suppose we combat crime. Don't you think that maybe some of the neighbors in these communities who are just trying to live a decent life might actually welcome these cameras? At least it's not some jerk cop standing there who is going to harrass people. Its a camera. A deterant. Better than someone selling drugs or killing someone. I dunno. Try coming from these neighborhoods and dealing with a bunch of assholes who think they run the world everyday. A bunch of immature little jerks out to get some quick cash. Cause thats all it is. The left shouldn't be so stupid. Come up with an alternative why don't ya, cause I don't see crime going away by just sitting by and hiding in the suburbs or the "white" part of town.

Re: More on Citiwatch surveillance network

Is there a website or something which details the locations of these cameras?
