Cindy Sheehan’s gallant anti-War vigil outside of the ranch of our half-demented President, George W. Bush, Jr., in Crawford Texas, is drawing massive support from around the country. It is also attracting pro-war snakes, like that former “Nation” magazine ranter, Christopher Hitchens. A Brit, who comes across as an insufferable Tory, he accused Sheehan of trying to “ventriloquize the dead” and of spouting off “sinister piffle.”
“I distrust anyone who claims to speak for the fallen,” wrote Christopher Hitchens, a bitter hatchet man for the warmongering Neocons. 1) He was referring to the heroic Cindy Sheehan and her attempts to speak with President George W. Bush, Jr. about the true reasons why her soldier/son, Army Specialist, Casey Sheehan, age 24, was killed in Iraq, on April 4, 2004, in Baghdad’s Sadr City.
Sheehan’s “Anti-War” encampment, now known as “Camp Casey,” outside of Crawford, Texas, near where Bush’s ranch is located, is literally driving the Neocons/Right Wing types crazy. She is getting all kinds of publicity out of it and drawing the attention of more and more Americans to the damnable disaster that is the Iraqi War. Sheehan, age 48, has told the media repeatedly, “I want Bush to stop using my son’s sacrifice to justify the killing.” The national TV networks have featured her on their news programs on a number of occasions, as have the cable networks, including CNN and Fox News. Sheehan is telling the nation the truth and it is having a positive effect on the American people. Recent polls now show that about 60 percent believe Bush is “mismanaging” the war. Different U.S. cities, like Baltimore, MD, are planning demonstrations to support Sheehan’s gallant efforts at peacemaking. (2)
Here is what Sheehan said in a letter to ABC’s “Nightline” on March 15, 2005, that helped to spin the British-born Hitchens into a wild tizzy. “Am I emotional? Yes, my first born was murdered. Am I angry? Yes, he was killed for lies and for a PNAC Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the army to protect America not Israel. Am I stupid? No, I know full well that my son, my family, this nation and this world were betrayed by George Bush who was influenced by the neo-con PNAC agenda after 9/11. We were told that we were attacked on 9/11 because the terrorists hate our freedom and democracy... not for the real reason, because the Arab Muslims who attacked us hate our middle-eastern foreign policy,” she wrote.
The slippery War Hawk Hitchens, who used to write regularly for the liberal magazine, “The Nation,” is part of the hawkish clique, which includes Richard Perle, the “Mother of All Neocons,” that has rabidly supported the Iraqi war. (3) There is really little or no difference between Hitchens, Perle, and Mortimer Zuckerman, a militant Zionist and media mogul. Zuckerman and Perle, at least, have been out in the open about their warmongering, while Hitchens, I suspect, is the kind of character that likes to blind side an opponent! I’m confident the real reason he attacked Sheehan is found in this line that he penned in his ugly rant for Slate: “Are we so sure that he (Casey) wanted to see his mother (Cindy) acquiring a knack for P.R., and announcing that he was killed in a war for a Jewish cabal?” I expect, too, that Hitchens will continue his mean-spirited campaign of Sheehan-bashing and that he will be seen soon on that boring “Charlie Rose Show” belaboring ad nauseam his lame arguments. (4)
Hitchens, a lackey for the Bush-Cheney Gang, continued with his anti-Sheehan spiel, “The president has compromised by sending his national-security adviser, Stephen Hadley, down that Crawford Road to meet the PR-knackish Cindy...What dreary sentimental nonsense this all is, and how much space has been wasted on it, “he whined. But, Hitchens wasn't done, he continued in that same sarcastic-like vein, “Most irritating is the snide idea that the president is ‘on vacation’ and thus idly ignoring his suffering subjects, when the truth is that members of the media-not known for their immunity to the charms of Martha’s Vineyard or Cape Cod in the month of August-are themselves lazing away the season with a soft-centered nonstory that practically, as we like to say in the trade, ‘writes itself.’ Anyway Sheehan now says she will ‘follow’ the president ‘to Washington,’ so I don’t think the holiday sneer has much life left in it,” Hitchens roared.
Only a snobbish Brit ignorant of our history would refer to the American people as “subjects.” Wrong, Hitchens! We’re citizens of a Republic that was created by kicking your pompous ancestors out of here 222 years ago. In fact, if there was one thing, one single thing, that sparked that glorious revolution against the grasping British Crown, it was that insulting and condescending attitude of superiority that the Brits had towards the American colonists. It p..... off a lot of the American Rebels, particularly the ones who knew how to fight, such as George Washington of Virginia! (5) Hitchens comes off as an insufferable Tory and smart aleck.
Hitchens wasn’t finished with his vicious tirade against Sheehan. He said she was trying to “ventriloquize the dead.” He then insulted his readers, too, by attempting to instruct them about their rights and privileges, with respect to the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Since Hitchens has just scribbled a poorly received book on the legendary Thomas Jefferson, I suppose he now thinks of himself an expert on the founding of our Republic, its laws and traditions. What an arrogant man Hitchens is. He also ridiculed Sheehan for taking a “short course in the Michael Moore/Ramsey Clark school of Iraq analysis” and said that she was just “spouting sinister piffle.”
Finally, I think Cindy Sheehan is continuing to do a tremendous service for the cause of peace, whether she is standing up at a podium in Lafayette Park, across from the White House in Washington, DC, blasting a mostly cowardly U.S. Congress and the Bush-Cheney Gang over the Iraqi War (6), and/or on holding a vigil for peace on a dusty road outside the president’s ranch in Crawford, Texas. As a result of her effectiveness in making her anti-war position clear, however, Sheehan is not only moving the Movement forward but also bringing a lot of the pro-war snakes out into the open. Christopher Hitchens is just one of those slimy reptiles! (7) Unfortunately, there are many more like him hiding out under the rocks. They want to send off, for various causes besides Zionist Israel, (8) more of America’s sons and daughters to be slaughtered in Iraq based on a rotten pack of lies concocted by the Bush-Cheney Gang and its cronies. Re: Christopher Hitchens Smears Cindy Sheehan
The recent drop in my polls, email from my Arab countrries friends, telling me, "What !you do not dare to talk to a woman,?" and all the publicity you are getting, Mom, is why I'm talking to you.
Mom, my PANC friends said we needed a New Pearl Harbor if we wanted to achieve full spectrum dominance, that is rule the world. So with the help of my Saudi connections, and at the urging of my Zionist friends, I took the advice of respected Henry Kissinger, who had said, "military soldiers are dumb animals .. to be used to further the New World Order" and stretched the truth about the weapons of mass destruction previous administrations had given to Sadamn. Unfortunatly they were looted in our SHOCK and AWE blitz.THey may be coming through the unprotected borders, but that is because we need cheap labor for our corporation buddies.
Israel was threatened after Iran's revolution and needed cheaper oil to relax on the beaches of Tel Aviv, and actually most of my close friends, Cheney and Rumsfield had put together a plan to bomb the WTC back in 1979 while my daddy was V.P
So for many years we tried to influence other
countries to give us their resources by using our good old boy CIAs in black operations to unseat any governments that didn't want us to dominate them. And so as not to take more money from American taxpayers back then we devised a way, in the Iran Contral scandal how to finance our operations through our off shore oil rigs and construction companies through dealing in drugs. No problem there the Jesuit rulled Vatican knows the gangstas and has some nice money laundering Banks here in America, like Bank of America. Daddy has Prescots' Nazi money tied to offshore rigs too.
Well the FBI botched the job back in the first WTC attack, so to go to war for oil and corporation globalization, and to let the Jesuits be happy, by giving them control of the Third temple, the FBI attacked in Oklahoma.Close informants built some of the bombs, and it was going to send a message to Americans, see what the gun lobby has done. Sure they told their own not to go to work that morning, and a judge who didn't send his kids to day care. And they used Melvin Latimore again there too. Later Patrick Briley's testimony was ignored by the Senate Commission as they'd been told. Just like Michael Ruppert's testimony was not wanted at my businessmen's commission of 911.
Oh yea, Melvin Latimore was at 911 too along with other FBI informants who helped out there. Sorry the buildings had to be demolished, Larry Silverstein went a little to far in destroying world trade center building 7, it wasn't even hit by a plane. Those stupid Mossad agents had to get caught videoing and cheering the destruction of the WTC. That's ok because Michael Chertoff had them deported, as he had helped Arab terrorists while he was a lower court lawyer. And my PaNc buddies were real glad when we delivered a missile to the Naval intelligence offices of the Pollard Spy case in the Pentagon. Rumsfield was in control there saying there were no survivors as Carol Valentine has reported.
Of course Ascroff didn't let any of this out! You see we elite of the world work for profit, and my daddy's joint bank account with the Queen is our fund for financing these things.
Mom, you have a right to protest, but it it gets ugly, I'll lock you up as a domestic terrorist and all your peace freaks too. With martial law dont't worry we've got concentration camps for you, so you might as well tell the youth of America to enlist to fight Cheneys war for Haliburtan, that is Iran.
Don't worry, I've ordered bomb shelters outside of our major cities and they'll be warned in time to take shelter and keep driving up the national debt.
Did I say work? Correction
by "Mr. Bush"
My elite lets money and others work for us. Too bad you're screwing up my five weeks vacation.
Lately I let the word out that we may have to lower our expectations in what's happening in Iraq. Seems like they're going to make it a nation under Islam. Yes, our military women have been sweating to death following a rigid dress code over there.
That's ok because I signed an executive order protecting our investments. They can't sue any of our corporations.
I let the word out, because The elections are coming up. The American people are getting a little nervous, that Iraq is a new Vietnam. Don't worry about that. Anybody taking more pictures will be shot in the future.
The real truth I can't talk to you has been is that I don't care. Every year my family goes before the GREAT OWL in Bohemian Grove, and we put on hoods, and particpate in the cremation of care. They burn a body to take away our cares. Only our men folk do this because our women are trained to obey thier husbands and smile. Thy're too busy decorating the white house, and my ranch.
When was the last time you every heard my wife talk about the Downing Street memo, or the Rove leak? As for him, he got me elected, along with the funny voting machines, and a few Supreme Court Judges who Dicky took hunting.
Oh yes,I'm the the war president., the Man! Iran is next, and I told you before I was building underground shelters for the city managers, and they'll get warned ahead of time.
Don't you realize this is a Crusade? I said that before, that's why we're using depleted Uranium. Think how we'll reduce the overpopulation of the Arabs. We got the blacks to believe Planned parenthood was not genocide. We are preserving Western Civilization Mom! We are fighting for freedom of the elite to control the masses! God Bless America!

You lack everything it takes to be taken serious, please try to think next time, before you make an even bigger fool of yourself...... I know the truth in this case is ugly, something I'm sure you're aware of, too bad you don't have the guts to stand up for it......

Re: Christopher Hitchens Smears Cindy Sheehan
The angry, bitter left all know for a fact that Bush’s war for oil in Iraq is illegal. By speaking out on Internet chat boards and using the façade of communist/socialist groups like A.N.S.W.E.R. and MoveOn.org, the really cool progressives are becoming a powerful force on the Internet chat boards.
The Internet also allows us really cool progressives to question authority. Really cool progressives like me and the Web Fairy question authority and have intellectual discussion on the fact that it was squib charges and holograms used on 9/11, not the propaganda put out by the corporate controlled media of 19 hijackers and jet airplanes.
I am somewhat of an expert on 9/11. I can look at a 72 dpi image on a really cool progressive Web site and tell you more than any aerospace or civil engineer what really happened.
There's a lot more going on in the 9/11 cover-up than meets the eye. People who buy every word that the corporate-controlled media says should go buy George Orwell's 1984 and practice up; it won't be long before the hopelessly indoctrinated manage to get the clocks to thirteen here. What the corporate controlled media fails to see is that there are a lot of really cool progressives like me and Sean Penn and Noam Chomsky and others on the angry bitter left who are now using these Internet chat boards to promote the talking points fed to us from A.N.S.W.E.R. and MoveOn.org.
The indoctrinated talking points include using Internet chat boards as much as possible (since many of us don’t have jobs) and also letting people know just how many people DIES in Bush’s illegal war for oil.
The really cool progressives and others with the angry, bitter left need to keep yelling Bush Lies and People Dies and we also need to keep hoping for victory by the insurgents – this is the only way we can prove that Bush stole the election and that Dr. Dean is a really cool progressive. Re: Christopher Hitchens Smears Cindy Sheehan
It takes someone like Cindy Sheehan to show that the majority of Americans want American troops out of Iraq. Instead the out-of-step Hillary wants send 80,000 more troops and continue this atrocity.
Re: Christopher Hitchens Smears Cindy Sheehan
long on name calling and short on argument.
I don't support Hitchens, but the personalization of what should be broader anti-war arguments into an emotional sideshow is a step backwards for the remnants of the left; a depolitization resulting from the conservative left's embrace of the personal is political.

Here is an unambivalent statement: "The moral authority of parents who bury children killed in Iraq is absolute."
And, now, here's another:
Am I emotional? Yes, my first born was murdered. Am I angry? Yes, he was killed for lies and for a PNAC Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the army to protect America, not Israel. Am I stupid? No, I know full well that my son, my family, this nation and this world were betrayed by George Bush who was influenced by the neo-con PNAC agendas after 9/11. We were told that we were attacked on 9/11 because the terrorists hate our freedoms and democracy … not for the real reason, because the Arab Muslims who attacked us hate our middle-eastern foreign policy.
The first statement comes from Maureen Dowd, in her New York Times column of Aug. 10. The second statement comes from Cindy Sheehan, whose son Casey was killed in Iraq last year. It was sent to the editors of ABC's Nightline on March 15. In her article, Dowd was arguing that Sheehan's moral authority was absolute.
I am at a complete loss to see how these two positions can be made compatible. Sheehan has obviously taken a short course in the Michael Moore/Ramsey Clark school of Iraq analysis and has not succeeded in making it one atom more elegant or persuasive. I dare say that her "moral authority" to do this is indeed absolute, if we agree for a moment on the weird idea that moral authority is required to adopt overtly political positions, but then so is my "moral" right to say that she is spouting sinister piffle. Suppose I had lost a child in this war. Would any of my critics say that this gave me any extra authority? I certainly would not ask or expect them to do so. Why, then, should anyone grant them such a privilege?
Sheehan has met the president before and has favored us with two accounts of the meeting, one fairly warm and the other distinctly cold. I have no means of knowing which mood reflected her real state of mind, but she now thinks she is owed another session with him, presumably in order to tell him what she asserted to the Nightline team. In pursuit of this, she has set up camp near Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas, and announced that she will not leave until she gets some more face-time with our chief executive. This qualifies her to be described by Dowd as "a 48-year-old Californian with a knack for P.R." Well, I think I have to concede that if Dowd says you have a knack for PR, you have acquired one even if you didn't have one before. (I am not entirely certain, for example, that the above letter to ABC News would count as a delicate illustration of the said "knack.")
The president has compromised by sending his national-security adviser, Stephen Hadley, down that Crawford road to meet the PR-knackish Cindy. Not good enough, exclaims Dowd. Hadley was pro-war and has even been described as a neocon! Clearly, then, the Sheehan demand is liable to expand the more it is met. President Bush must either find a senior staff member who opposes the war and then send him or her down the track to see if that will do. Or else he must, like the Emperor Henry of old, stage his own Canossa and attend on her himself, abject apologies at the ready. After all, we mustn't forget that we are dealing—as was that emperor in his dispute with Pope Gregory—with "an absolute moral authority."
What dreary sentimental nonsense this all is, and how much space has been wasted on it. Most irritating is the snide idea that the president is "on vacation" and thus idly ignoring his suffering subjects, when the truth is that the members of the media—not known for their immunity to the charm of Martha's Vineyard or Cape Cod in the month of August—are themselves lazing away the season with a soft-centered nonstory that practically, as we like to say in the trade, "writes itself." Anyway, Sheehan now says that if need be she will "follow" the president "to Washington," so I don't think the holiday sneer has much life left in it.
There are, in fact, some principles involved here. Any citizen has the right to petition the president for redress of grievance, or for that matter to insult him to his face. But the potential number of such people is very large, and you don't have the right to cut in line by having so much free time that you can set up camp near his drive. Then there is the question of civilian control over the military, which is an authority that one could indeed say should be absolute. The military and its relatives have no extra claim on the chief executive's ear. Indeed, it might be said that they have less claim than the rest of us, since they have voluntarily sworn an oath to obey and carry out orders. Most presidents in time of war have made an exception in the case of the bereaved—Lincoln's letter to the mother of two dead Union soldiers (at the time, it was thought that she had lost five sons) is a famous instance—but the job there is one of comfort and reassurance, and this has already been discharged in the Sheehan case. If that stricken mother had been given an audience and had risen up to say that Lincoln had broken his past election pledges and sought a wider and more violent war with the Confederacy, his aides would have been quite right to show her the door and to tell her that she was out of order.
Finally, I think one must deny to anyone the right to ventriloquize the dead. Casey Sheehan joined up as a responsible adult volunteer. Are we so sure that he would have wanted to see his mother acquiring "a knack for P.R." and announcing that he was killed in a war for a Jewish cabal? (a claim that has brought David Duke flying to Ms. Sheehan's side.) This is just as objectionable, on logical as well as moral grounds, as the old pro-war argument that the dead "must not have died in vain." I distrust anyone who claims to speak for the fallen, and I distrust even more the hysterical noncombatants who exploit the grief of those who have to bury them.
