As a lifelong resident of Maryland and having been born in Baltimore, I am immensely pleased that the city has passed a resolution against war in Iraq. I am convinced that the growing desire for peace spreading across the globe, as illustrated by constant and numerous actions against the US war machine(and every war machine), is not JUST against war in Iraq, but rather, against war ANYWHERE and EVERYWHERE. It has taken more than two thousand years of bloody human history, but tireless efforts of organizations like Indymedia, through the technology of the Internet, have brought the common civilians of the world together as never before. Seeing this awareness and desire for peace grow, even in this time of utter and complete global chaos, gives me hope. The one thing to have faith in now is our own humanity; and that, TOGETHER, we are victorious.

US cities are not the problem.

When you get Baghdad to reject Saddam and terrorism and totalitarianism then I will be impressed.

putting it in perspective, having a fairly major city show opposition to this "war on terror" is a great boost in the confidence of the anti-war americans and to the anti-war peoples of the entire world. as more of these resolutions are proposed, i hope that one by one they get approved and if the bombs ever start to (majorly) fall in iraq, more opposition to bush and his oil-hungry jackass friends will be pushed on than ever before

How can we best express our disdain for the resolution passed by congress and the House that gives dictatorial power to our pResident? This should be illegal and impossible in a democratic nation. Can you teach us more?
