Baltimore School for the Arts walkout

70 High School students from School for the Arts walked out and demonstrated downtown to protest the war.
Today at The Baltimore School for the Arts appr. 70 students walked out. Our school is a public magnet art school located in the center of the city. We are the first school (that we know of)m to plan a walk out in Baltimore city. There has not been much initiative within the city school system to educate our students about the war, it causes, and the possible damage, so we are proud that our students cared enough to put together not only walk out but a fiesty demonstration in Downtown Baltimore. If you all have any advice abotu getting a stronger anti-war network in Baltimore or events going on please tell me.

Thanks

Re: Baltimore School for the Arts walkout

Agreed,
As a graduate of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute who is very active in Worker Solidarity, Anti-war, and Anti-capitalist agitation from U of M College Park, I look back on my 13 years in the Baltimore City School system as a time when we could have done so much, but couldnt get together.

What can we do? What highschool students are interested, how can area college students and area workers do to help. How can some parents help their kids organize.

What the students of Blair in Montgomery County and Wilson in DC are doing needs to be brought to Baltimore and expanded. The time of our liberation is at hand.

Re: Baltimore School for the Arts walkout

Was this yesterday? I saw a bunch of students near the Peabody protesting. Keep doing what you are doing!!! Stay motivated. Write memos on you really feel about this war and get other students to sign it. Get involved with other local schools and start scheduled stand it and stand outs. Since you are the School of the Arts, create mini radio and television programming on being virtuous against this crazy war. Peace in ALWAYS in fashion! Peace and Blessings
