Re: Activists Increase Militance in Wake of Bush's Re-election
Nonviolent resistance doesn't work overnight, and no one has ever said it did. These kind of movements take years to get results, and as disheartening as it is, sometimes all you can do is wait.
I don't mean wait sitting on your hands, but waiting while we still drum out the same message: the war has to end, the wealth needs to be redistributed, the system is corrupt. Since the "election" I've seen and heard people that would never consider joining a demonstration get out on the streets, and more are joining us, with every assault in Iraq, with every poor decision made by the administration. We're going to win eventually, but not if we alienate the bulk of the U.S., which using violent and destructive tactics will definitely do.
Re: Activists Increase Militance in Wake of Bush's Re-election
i know its frustrating, & we got A LOT of work to do, but i think the s'election woke a lot of people up. and if an investigation of the fraud goes through (not to give the election to the other warmongerer, but to further expose all the bastards) it will wake up even more. so work with us a little longer. i can feel the energy my elders felt when they got things moving in the right direction. we're gonna reach our goal this time.
